You do know what a lost and found is, right? A place where things that are found are left to be claimed by those who lost them? Right. So this is that, only genealogical. And historical. And a little random-ness. Most of it is available to purchase in digital form, some of it will be for sale in physical form.
A basic list of the types of things we find, and list:
- letters
- postcards
- yearbooks
- photos
- photo albums
- wills
- bills
- receipts
- checks
- deeds
- court records
- cards
Essentially anything that might have belonged to your ancestor. This stuff belonged to someone's ancestor! The growing number of crazed scrapbookers who take one-of-a-kind, irreplacable documents and turn them into cutsie scrapbook decorations seems to grow every day. This is my effort to reclaim as many of those things as I can afford to buy. I sell them for as little as possible - just enough to make enough to keep rescuing more items without breaking YOUR bank.
Some items are of more historical interest, like ads. Even full books, if we're as sure as we can be that they're out of copyright. There's really very little that we won't try to save!
